HTC’s Vivid and Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket are At&t’s first LTE 4G phones
As Verizon’s LTE network is already covering thousands of users, At&t is slowly playing catching up and quietly building out their LTE compatible line up. Recently At&t brought the LTE ready HTC Jetstream tablet to the untapped and really nonexistent LTE market, but gearing up with new devices is just a part of the plan. The EVO 4G was non 4G for months before the coverage expanded to our area, so the official launch of not one but two new AT&T LTE phones does not sound too crazy, especially how beautiful and powerful they are. The Samsung Skyrocket Galaxy S II and the HTC Vivid have been made official today and true At&t 4G is surely just around the corner.
The HTC Vivid has shown its face and rear a few times in the past as the HTC Holiday the huge build and streamlined design has been made official and comes with a pretty impressive set of specs. More recently the Vivid made its way into Korean markets under the Raider moniker. The newly announced HTC Vivid will soon be available in both black and white variations and will run new contract signers for about $200 bucks. The specs for the HTC Vivid are pretty much spot on to the rumors. The Vivid sports a 4.5 inch qHD touch screen display with a 960×540 pixel resolution and packs in a dual core 1.2 GHz processor and 16GB of internal storage. It also comes equipped with an 8 mega pixel camera with a dual LED flash and 1080p HD recording capabilities, up front the Vivid sports a 1.3 mega pixel front facing shooter. With the latest in Android version 2.3.4 and LTE connectivity the HTV Vivid is a new monster phone worthy of any power user’s arsenal. I only wish that external contact was still in tow.
The Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket is the next in line for At&t’s LTE goodness. The device has been through the rumor mill for quite some time now and was recently announced as available in Korean markets just as its launch brother was. This amazing new Galaxy S II from Samsung runs with a Super AMOLED 4.5 inch touch screen that measures in at a 480 x 800 pixel resolution. Internally this monster is run by a 1.5 dual core processor and is backed by 16GB of internal storage. The Skyrocket runs the latest in Android version 2.3.5 and sports a rear facing 8 mega pixel cameras that can record video in 1080p and a front facing 2 mega pixel cameras for all your video conferencing needs. Most importantly, the Galaxy S II Skyrocket will run with the super fast data speeds of At&t’s LTE network. Pricing on the Skyrocket will start at $250 bucks with the cost of a new two year contract. Sound good?
Both devices will come equipped with LTE connectivity, but don’t worry if LTE is not in your area yet as both devices are also HSPA+ compatible.
