HTC Rhyme is official – Accessories included

HTC has announced a new device onto the world today and it brings a touch of class to its handsets that is said to reach “a new type of customer” for the company and no, not necessarily just women as it was previously rumored, or at least that’s not how the pitch goes. With all the new bells and whistles, or should I say accessories, HTC and the designers for the Rhyme are directing their attention at this new category of customer. Who are these mysterious new customers? Well, according to the video below, “These are People who want all that the smart phone has to offer, but they don’t want to have to engage directly with technology”… Here is a little insight behind the design of the HTC Rhyme.

Originally the HTC Bliss was rumored to be marketed and directly made with women in mind, while HTC will never say it directly, the new Rhyme is indeed marketed and designed with a woman’s needs in mind. It comes in a purty purple package but packs some mid range specs. But it also comes with a slew of different helpful accessories, and what women doesn’t like accessories, am I right? Mainly the “Charm Indicator” that was recently uncovered before the launch is real, this small cube like bulb easily connects to the Rhyme and sits around the edge of a purse or pocket and allows its users to know when a call or message is coming in without having to hear or feel the phone ringing. It also comes equipped with an active arm band, stereo ear buds, a unique docking cradle, Bluetooth headset and a dash board speaker. As far as internal specs are concerned, they are meager when pitted against today’s standards, but pretty awesome nonetheless. The HTC Rhyme has a 3.7 inch touch screen that carries a 400×800 pixel resolution. The device uses the latest Android build in version 2.3 and is skinned with the latest in HTC Sense version 3.5. You can also expect the standards like Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and expandable microSD memory. What you may not expect or I guess what I didn’t expect is the HTC Rhyme sports a 1600 mAh non removable battery…hopefully anyone interested is not anywhere near the level of power user. This newly announced phone runs a single core 1 GHz Qualcomm MSM8655 processor; it packs 768 MB of RAM and is ready to save with 4 GB of internal storage. It also comes ready to capture your life’s favorite moments with its rear facing 720p capable 5 mega pixel camera and front facing VGA camera.

Take a gander at the first look video of the device from HTC…Oh and HTC how many Facebook options do we need for uploading? See the :26 second mark.

The HTC Rhyme will go on preorder starting two days from now on September 22nd, it will hit retail shelves on the 29th. It will be made available to Verizon customers at a subsidized $199 price tag and gradually make its way around the world in the coming months in other color options. And in case you were wondering all of the accessories are included within that price.
