HTC Announes the One Mini 2

HTC_One_Mini_2The HTC One Mini 2 is now official! In a world of ever growing smart phones it’s nice to know that the minis exist! Smart phones over the years have become increasingly large. The devices that were once 3 to 4 inches large are now shipping with 5.5 inch screens as if it were no big deal! Early on however as the screens started to spread companies like Samsung and LG were smart enough to offer ‘mini’ options of their high end flagships. HTC was also known to offer up mini variants and the latest to hit the market is a mini variation of their wildly successful One M8.

The mystery surrounding the HTC One Mini has been propagating itself for the last few weeks now. The rumors and speculation have been leaking all over the place since late March and now it seems as if the miniature handset is finally official! The HTC One Mini 2 while it may have a questionable name is the next generation One Mini. While the name seems a bit much the general idea is to differentiate the device from the previous model One Mini and not the One M8 as a mini One M8 this Mini 2 is not. It does however, share the same shape and design language as its older more powerful sibling. The One Mini 2 starts with a 4.5 inch touch screen that offers up a 720×1280 HD resolution at 326 pixels per inch. This excellent screen is built into a 10.6 mm thin aluminum housing that is almost an exact copy of its larger sibling. Under the hood the One Mini 2 sports a Qualcomm made Snapdragon 400 processor that has a quad core 1.2 GHz ARM Cortex A-7 processor, GPU, 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage and expandable micro SD memory up to 128 GB. Around back a single 13 mega pixel camera can be found sitting to the right of an LED flash while a front facing 5 mega pixel sensor can be used for all your selfie needs. Lastly the One Mini 2 runs with the likes of Android version 4.4, sports HTC’s Sense 6 UI and offers up connectivity such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, micro USB 2.0, DLNA, NFC and of course 4G LTE data speeds.
