The HTC J Butterfly is a Better Waterproof One M8!
A new HTC J Butterfly becomes the next variant in the One M8 story! HTC and their new line up of One smart phones have been on a roll for a while now. Early last month the company’s quarterly check in posted positive results and putting the company in the black with a profit of some $75.5 million bucks! While the first generation One and its more recent One M8 have spawned a new crop of successful phones for HTC it looks as if they are not quite done with the One M8 and the J Butterfly is set continue the M8 reign in Japan.
Way back in 2012 the HTC Butterfly was announced and launched across Japan. This awesome handset was a variant of the Verizon bound Droid DNA and now a new Butterfly will emerge from the One cocoon. The new HTC J Butterfly has been announced this morning by HTC and KDDI a carrier in Japan. This new Butterfly is mostly the One M8 however it is slightly improved. The J Butterfly comes with a 5 inch touch screen that will offer up a 1080p display and will give its end users control over Android version 4.4 aka Kitkat. Around back the Butterfly keeps the dual camera design but bumps the spec sheet up to 13-megapixels for the main shooter while the additional lens clocks in with a 2 mega pixel sensor. Up front the device houses a 5 mega pixel shooter. Internally the handset is set to ship with a Snapdragon 801 processor and 2 GB of RAM. Additionally you’ll find Wi-Fi, LTE Advanced, 150Mbps of 4G, an included Dot View Case a JBL audio profile and even an included set of ear buds. Lastly the device is built into a waterproof casing! This new J Butterfly sounds like an actual improvement to an already awesome phone. Will the J Butterfly make its way stateside? Unfortunately, no one knows right now however considering the original Butterfly made its way here as the Droid DNA anything is possible!
