The HTC Edge Rumored to bring Quad Core Processing to the Mobile Fold

It’s a funny feeling when you get to see technological advancements right before your eyes…we live in strange times, fast moving times and our technology seems to be setting the pace for us. When the cell phone market came out of the boring low end sector and started pumping out super fast cell phones with CPU’s that make some peoples computers looks ornery. With this advancement in mobile the GHz started to fly. We have come to the apex of 1. GHz processors and then moved on to dual cores. What’s the next step? Well quad core’s of course.

HTC has been at the forefront of pushing the market into greater pastures, but they have really pushed the envelope with this new HTC Edge. This new phone model is still a rumor at this point and the pictures you see above are merely 3D renderings of the device. The new phone leaked to the interwebs yesterday and comes with a literal jaw dropping set of specifications. It is being said that this unreleased HTC Edge is very similar to the recently announced HTC Rezound, only a bit better. Internally the HTC Edge is said to be packing in an Nvidia Tegra 3 Quad Core processor that clocks in at 1.5 GHz per core. But that is far from all. The Edge is rumored to come packing 1GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Its screen measures in at 4.7 inches and is said to pack in a 720p HD pixel resolution. An 8 mega pixel camera can be found on the rear of the Edge rocking a backlight 28 millimeter lens with a focal ratio of 2.2. Of course this camera will be able to record video in full HD. Other details on the HTC Edge give it the latest in Bluetooth connectivity with version 4.0, Beats Audio technologies will also be found lurking within. The downside? Yes there is one. The rumor has no mention of LTE connectivity, but rather HSDPA connectivity which can potentially get its users 21Mbps data speeds. However my safe assumptions see an LTE future for this device.

While no pricing and exact version of Android have been uncovered, this super phone is rumored to be available late in Q1 or early Q2 next year. We can expect this amazing new phone to come with a high price range but of course it’s well worth it. Sound off below and let us know what you think of the new HTC Edge. And of course you can pick up the best HTC accessories here.
