Google’s New Nexus 7 Get’s Official


The New Google Nexus 7 gets official! Way back in June of last year Google took to the state at their developer conference to announce their first Nexus foray into the tablet space. The company announced a tablet that was set to change the mobile world as we knew it! The Nexus 7 tablet was born. Since its launch speculation of what the next generation Nexus 7 would offer. Today, nearly a year later the search giant has announced the new Nexus 7 alongside a new version of Android a handful of awesome new features for Chrome to an eager group of reporters at an event in San Francisco. Let’s see what the new Nexus 7 has to offer shall we?

The new Nexus 7 keeps it manufacturing roots in Asus for good reason. The new variation is slimmer, lighter and more powerful as you would expect. Its new build measures in at a mere 8mm thin and houses a 7 inch IPS LCD touch screen with slimmer bezel, that offers up a full HD experience with a resolution of 1920×1200 at 323 pixels per inch. Delving a bit deeper into what makes the new Nexus 7 run we find a more than capable Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro system chip that offers up a quad core 1.5 GHz processor, Adreno 320 GPU, 2 GB of RAM and up to 32 GB of built in storage. The new Nexus 7 also adds in a camera that uses a 5 mega pixel rear facing sensor that can record video in full HD as well as a 1.2 mega pixel front facing sensor for all of your video chatting needs. Additionally the Nexus 7 will be offered in a Wi-Fi and 4G LTE variations. They will all come with GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, micro USB, Slim port HDMI, wireless charging and NFC as well. So when and how much you ask? Well, the LTE edition will work with At&t, T-Mobile or Verizon and with 32 GB of storage should run you about $350. Wi-Fi only versions will be priced at $230 for the 16 GB and $270 for the 32 GB model. Both Wi-Fi variations will be made available on July 30th while launch dates for the carrier variations have not been announced!
