A Galaxy S III For MetroPCS to Call Their Own
“The next big thing is already here” and spreading like wild fire. The Samsung Galaxy S III is indeed a phone to reckon with. A device that has surely help set the smart phone bar pretty high. The Samsung Galaxy S III was announced back in May and it didn’t take long to launch on all major carriers. While sales continue to rise with the GSIII and the better known carriers, the device has yet to see how its life would be on the more budget friendly end the spectrum with the likes of say MetroPCS. Today some big news comes from the carrier and affordable smart phone options have just gotten a bit larger.
The Samsung Galaxy S III is no new comer to the market. Its presence in just a few short months has positioned itself in the top of the market and as a number one contender to the dominance of the fruit flavored variety that has a strangle hold on smart phone customers across the globe. Its specs and features are awesome, but its road to dominance is paved in end users not a spec sheet. The budget friendly MetroPCS will begin carrying and offering the Galaxy S III in October. Currently however if you head over the carriers website you can enter yourself in their contest to win a GSIII of your very own. But what can you expect from a MetroPCS branded Galaxy S III? Well, the same awesome-ness you get from the device on any other carrier. Keep in mind however, pricing will indeed be a bit different as the carriers commitment to low cost plans starts with unsubsidized handset pricing. But just in case you have been living under a rock, and no offense to any rock dwellers, the Galaxy S III is an amazingly capable handset. It starts with the likes of a 4.8 inch SuperAMOLED touch screen that offers up a 720×1280 pixel resolution at 306 pixels per inch. Delving into the handset a bit more shows it running with the likes of Android version 4.0 that is nicely skinned with TouchWiz UX interface. Android will get its computational go from the likes of a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8960 dual core 1.5GHz Krait processor as well as an Adreno 225 GPU, 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB or 16 GB of built in storage and expandable microSDHC memory options up to 64 GB. Around back an 8 mega pixel camera with accompanying LED flash and a slew of software features can be seen. Up front a 1.9 mega pixel shooter is available for all your self portraits. Additional connectivity for the Galaxy S III comes in the form of Bluetooth version 4.0, Wi-Fi, Hotspot, micro USB 2.0, MHL, DLNA and NFC.
