Lots of consumers are waiting patiently for the newest and possibly most powerful Android smartphone to date, the HTC EVO 4G. The new Android smartphone is expected to be released on June 6 and comes with WiMax. Boasting features such as a large, high res touchscreen, a speedy processor running on Google’s own Android Operating System with 4G networking connection, consumers are salivating and waiting patiently to get their hands on this new baby.

According to sources, the HTC EVO 4G will be released and sold with a choice of purchasing it under a $200 new or renewed subscription or $600 with no contract. Pre-orders will be taken sometime this month for consumers who wish to purchase some of the first few units.

The HTC EVO 4G is currently considered the most powerful smartphone to date, coming with Snapdragon processor with a 1 Ghz speed and 4G Wimax. Utilizing the 4G WiMax, it is capable of downloading at maximum speeds of 12 Mbps. Average download speeds will play around the 2 – 4 Mbps speed range. Along with Sprint’s WiMax, the device will also be built in with Bluetooth, WiFi and EV-DO.

Although the EVO 4G will be running using the Android OS 2.1, the device will also be featuring the HTC Sense. This is HTC’s alternative user interface which includes Google features. Also included are some of Google’s default software for the web, messaging as well as entertainment.

Initially, there had been no confirmation as to the exact date of release, whether it was the first or second Sunday. This is considered the usual day when new mobile devices are released by the telecom companies. As the release commonly falls on a weekend, the turnout of consumers during this event will determine how well the market accepts this new smartphone device.
