The Droid RAZR brings back a bit of Nostalgia packs super powers and premium build
It does exist! And it has an official name! For the past month or so these rumors of a high powered Motorola made Android circled through my head like sugar plums during the holidays. Today however this new monster phone from El’ Moto has become real and official. It started with a peek at its build and screen when sitting next to a Droid Bionic and went by the name Droid HD. Shortly after we caught a fleeting glimpse of this device it showed face again in a 3D rendering and its name went from HD, to Spyder then to my favorite and the one that caught the Motorola Droid RAZR.
The newly announced Droid RAZR comes on the heels of a very soft Atrix 2 launch and it is here to impress. Most of the rumors surrounding the Droid RAZR have been proven correct. The Droid RAZR will of course be connected to the fastest LTE 4G network around, Verizon. It comes ready at the helm with a super fast dual core 1.2 GHz processor that is backed by 1GB of RAM. This ultimate power sipping awesomeness puts the GO in the step of Android version 2.3.5. It comes with 16GB of on board storage that can be expanded with its microSD or microSDHC card slot. Other details give the Droid RAZR, Bluetooth 4.0, which is one of the first devices to sport the new protocol. Cameras you ask? Well of course. The new Droid RAZR comes with an 8 mega pixel shooter that can record video in 1080p and a front facing camera that clocks in at 1.3 mega pixels and is branded as “HD” (maybe 720p?). What’s more impressive is the Droid RAZR’s build. With a spec sheet that keeps on giving it would be hard to imagine this that it measures in at a super thin 7.1 mm. Its body is made of ultra durable bullet stopping KEVLAR fibers and its screen is protected by the best in the business Gorilla glass. On top of that already impressive build, Motorola adds in nanocoating technologies. Yes that’s right, the nanocoating on this device helps protect the outside and the innards of the Droid RAZR from “everyday spills”. Sounds like a winner to me, ultra thin, highly durable, super fast data and a beautiful build. Looks and sounds like the Droid RAZR can do no wrong. Pre-Orders on Droid RAZR start October 27th and according to Verizon the device will be made readily available in November. How much? Well, this kind of quality is not cheap. The Droid RAZR will be priced at $299 on a new contract. A high price for high quality I guess.
