The Droid 4 Priced and Ready for February 10th

Motorola has recently launched their next generation smart phones with the Droid RAZR and RAZR Maxx, the lingering variant the Droid 4 is still waiting in the wings. The Droid 4 as immanent as it is was getting all types of leaky in few weeks leading up to CES and viola, the Droid 4 was made official at the convention. Keeping the anticipation bubbling Motorola did not release any launch dates or prices on the coveted Droid 4. Good thing for leaks right? Droid-Life.Com got their hands on not only a launch date, but also a price!

As the company announced a slowdown in handset manufacturing, one thing is for sure the Droid line will not go anywhere. With a very similar build to the Droid RAZR the Droid 4 will sport the legendary QWERTY keyboard and some impressive specs. Initial leaks priced this new smart phone at about $250. New leaks from Verizon’s system price the new Droid 4 at $199, sounds a bit more reasonable right? Off contract you can expect the Droid 4 to run you about $550. An additional internal screen shot from Verizon puts the Droid 4 available everywhere on February 10th. So what can you expect on the 10th for two hundred bucks? Well a whole bunch actually. The internal document that exposed the release date has also given us a better look at all of which the D4 has to offer. As the follow up to the legendary Droid line, the D4 has some pretty big shoes to fill. Internally the Droid 4 packs in the processing power with a 1.2 GHz dual core TI OMAP4430 CPU. It also comes equipped with 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and of course expandable microSD, microSDHC memory up to 32GB. The qHD screen measures in at a perfect 4 inches and provides a last gen 540×960 pixel resolution. The screen as you could imagine horizontally slides open to expose a ‘laser cut’ QWERTY keyboard that has a dedicated number row! Around back the Droid 4 will pack in an 8 mega pixel camera, with full 1080p video recording capabilities at 30 fps. Up front your video conferencing camera clocks in at 1.3 mega pixels. But wait there’s more! The D4 will also carry with it Bluetooth version 4.0 with pretty much every useful Bluetooth protocol ever needed including A2DP, Wi-Fi 802.11 b, g, n with Hotspot potential for 5 devices when running 3G and up to 8 when using LTE. It also comes with a micro and USB HDMI ports. As one of the more affordable LTE devices we should remind you, it will be superfast on the data side of things. So for two hundred bucks is this your new phone?
