Droid 2 finally becomes official
It has been officially confirmed via Verizon that the Droid 2 will most definitely be made available on Thursday. This is really good news, maybe my Droid 2 nightmares will stop now, no really guys it has been a long wait for the Droid 2, but it looks like all of you that have been holding out and or waiting on your new phone or upgrade, your wait is over. Finally.
So the Droid 2 has made its self known in the past few months with a slew of free advertising. From leaked models getting benchmark tested, to employee training documentation, to protector cases magically showing up in Best Buys weeks before release, and the list goes on. Yesterday we got a tip from one of our readers that customers would be able to order a Droid 2 via a phone call at 12:01 on Thursday morning, this tip turns out to be true. But today brings us better more official news, pre-sales for the Droid 2 will start tomorrow, and the flood gates open on Thursday. If you haven’t been following the Droid 2 saga, then let me catch you up. The Droid 2 has a 3.7 inch touch screen, a 5 MP camera, DLNA Streaming, 8GB of internal memory and a preinstalled 8GB memory card. The excellent little Droid will be shipping with Android 2.2 as well as a pre installed version of Swype. The new Droid comes to the world with a newly designed QWERTY and a mobile Hotspot feature that is an additional 20 bucks to your contract.
The R2-D2 Droid 2 has also been confirmed. The R2-D2 Droid 2 is a special edition Droid 2 that was leaked a awhile back, Verizon has confirmed the release of the special edition R2-D2 edition for September. The R2-D2 Droid 2 is said to be internet sale only and will ship with some exclusive pre loaded Star Wars content, which means they will fly off the shelves faster than an X-Wing could slay the dark side, ok I’m sure these will sell faster.
But one way or the other kids the Droid 2 has been made official, so go get one and let us know what you think of it!
