Is the DLXPLUS A Verizon Variant of the HTC M7?
The 19th just can’t come soon enough! HTC is holding a special event to launch some new wares in the coming days and most everyone is expecting the highly anticipated, heavily rumored HTC M7 to be at the fore front of the parade. As the days pass however more and more rumors of the handset and its future keep popping up. The M7 stands to be an oversized flagship built off the excellence of the Droid DNA which was recently launched to Verizon. When the M7 does launch it is expected to reach far and wide as far as carriers are concerned, but it looks as if Big Red is not quite content with their DNA and may be expecting their own M7 variant.
Sometimes when a manufacturer makes an awesome handset, carriers feel like they are entitled to a special variation of the handset to set them apart from their competition. While this is most prevalent here stateside, it’s a little known issue that usually does nothing but cause confusion amongst consumers. Newly leaked details surrounding the M7 show that Verizon may be getting their own version of the M7 dubbed the DLXPLUS. @LlabTooFeR who is apparently an “HTC insider” and developer has some details on a new handset that ultimately sounds like an updated DNA. The M7 in case you were wondering is essentially just that and these specs may prove to be just what the M7 is made of, no matter who the carrier. Ultimately the details of leak give the handset the DLXPLUS name which is not too far off of the DNA’s initial code name DLX. Detials of the DLXPLUS state that it will come with a 4.7 inch 1080p HD touch screen, it will run Android Jelly Bean skinned to the brim with HTC Sense 5.0, it will carry with it a Qualcomm APQ8064 chip set with a 1.7 GHz processor, 16 GB of ROM, 2 GB of Ram and expandable SD memory options. The DLXPLUS is also said to carry with it at all times a 13 mega pixel camera around back and a 2.1 mega pixel shooter up front. The leak goes on to point out Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and GPS+ Glonnas connectivity. One last caveats Verizon USA as the marked carrier! So is it the highly anticipated M7, or just an update to the DNA?
