BlackBerry Torch 9800 On Sale!
The all new BlackBerry Torch 9800 goes on sale today. It seems like only yesterday that the Torch was still an unverified rumor. Only available currently on AT&T, the Torch promises something that no other BlackBerry before it ever has. A touchscreen you actually want to use combined with a slide-out BlackBerry QWERTY keyboard. It truly is the best of both worlds.
However, the Torch is not without a few snafus. The screen resolution, processor speed and lack of flagship features like mobile hotspot abilities and HDMI output have all been reason to criticize the device. Of course, Research In Motion (RIM) has never had any of these before, so if you’re wondering if you’ll end up missing something that you loved about your old BlackBerry, don’t worry. If BlackBerrys are not your favorite smartphones and you’re wondering if the Torch will do what you want, then read up a bit before you drop the cash and sign a 2-year contract with AT&T. Don’t get me wrong, the Torch is an excellent phone, it just might not be what you’re looking for.
Let’s look at the good now. BlackBerry OS 6 ships on the Torch, its touchscreen isn’t SurePress, the integrated Social Feeds app is amazing and the web browser is eons ahead of previous versions. I would even go so far as to say that you’ve never truly surfed the web before on a BlackBerry if you haven’t used the new browser. Kudos to RIM for getting it right on this try.

What I want to know is if you’re going to buy this now that you can. You’ve seen the videos, read the reviews and may have even seen one in action by now. It’s decision time people. So, are you buying the Torch 9800? If you have, what do you think of it? Let us all know.RIM, launch, BlackBerry Torch 9800, AT&T
