Here is what you have been looking for; a rundown on how the yet unnamed BlackBerry Tablet, Cisco Cius and Apple iPad will fare against each other once the Cius and BlackBerry tablet finally roll out.

Screen: Expected to be 8.9”

Connectivity: Wi-Fi and Bluetooth tethering to BlackBerry smartphones

Processor: Unknown

Storage: Unknown

OS: Unknown, presumably a version of the upcoming BlackBerry OS 6.0

Target Market: Business users

Miscellaneous: Little is still known about RIM’s upcoming tablet, but expect it to launch later this year

-          The Cius

Price: Approximately $1000

Screen: Estimated at 7”

Connectivity: Wi-Fi, 3G, 4G (LTE) and Ethernet (also capable of being plugged into a regular phone)

Processor: Unknown

RAM: Unknown

Storage: Unknown

OS: Google Android (presumably version 3.0)

Target Market: Business users

Miscellaneous: Has a forward facing HD video camera for video conferencing

-          The iPad

Price: $499-$829 depending on model

Screen: 9.7”

Connectivity: Wi-Fi (3G also available in some models) and Bluetooth

Processor: 1 GHz Apple A4

RAM: 256 MB

Storage: 16, 32 and 64GB models available, not expandable

OS: iOS 3.2 (soon to be updated to iOS 4)

Target Market: Consumers

Miscellaneous: Able to use many of the apps on Apple’s App Store designed for iPhones

Quite a bit of information still has not been released for either RIM’s tablet or Cisco’s Cius. Expect both devices to cater towards business users and integrate into corporate networks. I will keep you updated as more information is released on all three of the devices, since Apple is working on an updated version of iPad (which is expected to be able to do video conferencing).
