Leaked: BlackBerry Desktop Manager, OS

Software was leaked onto the internet today for BlackBerry users. The leaked software in question was  BlackBerry Desktop Manager Version and BlackBerry OS for the BlackBerry Curve 8520, Curve 8900 and Bold 9000. In light of the fact that the Storm 2 might not even be getting BlackBerry OS 6, this might be the last OS release that these BlackBerrys get.

Here is the rundown on the BlackBerry Desktop Manager. The new version mostly just brings support for soon-to-be released BlackBerrys. However, version 6 is entering a limited beta period today and it has a complete refresh to the user interface. If you are lucky enough to be a BlackBerry beta zone member, you probably should look into it before messing around with the leaked version

Second, the leaked OS update is unofficial and as such, is not supported by Research In Motion or your carrier. Installer beware. Check it out though if you are adventurous.

Also, to give credit where it is due, the leaks are all thanks to Driphter.

You can find the links to get the leaked software at driphter.com (please note the standard disclaimer that you should backup your device before attempting an OS update and no one is going to be supporting the leaked OS if it completely screws up your phone):
