Video Emerges of BlackBerry Bold 9800 Startup Screen

A new video showcasing the BlackBerry Bold 9800’s startup screen has emerged and oh boy does it look sweet. The boot screen is different than what loads on other BlackBerry devices and while no one is quite sure yet if this is unique for the smartphone or a part of BlackBerry OS 6, it certainly is enough to make a BlackBerry fan drool. Before the video, here is a quick rundown on the new device to keep you up-to-date:

-          Slide out keyboard

-          Multitouch enabled screen

-          512MB of RAM

-          Wi-Fi, 3G, A-GPS  and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR

-          5 megapixel camera with flash

-          microSD

-          BlackBerry OS 6 of course

While it sure seems like it has been a long time coming, the Bold 9800 has a rumored launch date of August 15th. Check here for the full scoop on that. While the 15th of August is still just a rumor, those spare keyboards popping up online for it, give some credence. Of course, the fact that this amazing smartphone has been spotted so many places and gotten so many videos makes it highly likely that it really is just about ready for release.

Without further ado, here is that video I mentioned up at the top.

You might notice the AT&T logo at startup. Hopefully the 9800 does not stay locked into one carrier for long.
