BlackBerry Bold 9780 Video Leak
The coming BlackBerry Bold 9780 has just seen a huge leak of pictures and a video out of Vietnam of all places. While the Bold 9780 is not exactly a smartphone to write home about—it’s a simple refresh of the current 9700 model—it will be running BlackBerry OS 6. It will also probably be showing up on T-Mobile’s network sometime in October and AT&T will most likely get a version as well.
Here are a quick rundown on the specs just to remind you:
- 624 MHz Marvell processor
- 512MB of RAM
- BlackBerry OS 6 from launch
- 5 mega pixel camera
- 480×360 screen resolution
- Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, etc.
Yeah, it is a Bold 9700 with more RAM stuck in the case and a better camera. At least it should be shipping with BB OS 6. Given the current confusion over what the next Storm 3 will exactly pack, this might just be your best smartphone bet from Research In Motion (RIM) in the near future besides the Torch 9800. The 9780 is virtually identical to the Torch besides the obvious lack of a touchscreen and the slide out keyboard part.
Enjoy the video below. I know it doesn’t say anything we haven’t already known about the coming device or OS 6, but it is nice to get a look at how well OS 6 is running without a touchscreen.
So, Bold 9780, Torch 9800 or keeping your fingers crossed for a new Storm model and not just a refresh of the Storm 2? Let me know. Right now I’m leaning towards the Torch as the better pick because more input options are always good.RIM, video, BlackBerry Bold 9780, leak, Blackberry OS 6
