Blackberry Bold 9650 Coming Soon

Start your countdowns Blackberry fans. Telecom company Sprint has already announced that the Blackberry Bold 9650 will be coming to stores later this month. Subscribers of Verizon Wireless will have to hold their breath for more indefinite period as the company has only this to say, that it is coming “soon.” A copy of the pamphlet for the new Blackberry Bold 9650 indicates that this should hopefully not take too long. There is no confirmation about Verizon’s prices as of yet. Sprint however, has already disclosed that the model will be sold a price of $199.99, the price already reduced to include a $100 rebate mailed-in and purchased under a two year service contract with the company. Some speculate that without any contract, the Bold 9650 can be purchased directly at $449.99.

This new Blackberry smartphone is remarkably similar to the Tour 9630, except for a few minor changes and upgrades. The Blackberry 9650 has retained the shape that the device is known for. It has a screen measuring 2.4 inches with a resolution of 480 x 360 pixels.  Different from its Tour 9630 ancestor is the optical trackpad, which is said to function better than the Tour version.  To compensate for the screen, the full QWERTY keyboard appears quite small.

In comparison to other previously released Blackberry smartphones, the Blackberry 9650 is the first to be classified as a worldphone, capable of making calls and connect to networks beyond the US borders.

This recent Blackberry smartphone is said to be built with more applications for more entertainment purposes and will be running on the Blackberry OS 5. It will also be installed with a default set of software for web access and email use. The Blackberry Bold 9650 will also be fitted with a 3.2 MP camera with built-in flash, movable zoom, autofocus function as well as ability to record. Sprint is also said to release the same model without a camera for businesses that have more stringent security rules.
