Recently in the midst of Samsungs attempt at taking over the industry they have launched about 4 new phones under their Galaxy S line. There were four similar phones for four of the major carriers, T-Mobiles version was listed as a Vibrant, Sprint’s version is the Epic 4G, Verizon gets the Fascinate and At&t got the Captivate.

Good news this morning from the At&t camp is that the new captivate gets official time and price. Before today there was nothing set in stone for At&t’s new Android running Captivate.  The new At&t Captivate from Samsung will be officially launched on July 18^th and run you about $200 bucks with a new two year contract. The Samsung Captivate from the Galaxy S line surely has some specs that are indeed impressive. The Captivate will be running a 1GHz Cortex A8 Samsung processor and will come equipped with a 5 mega pixel camera that can record video in 720p. The Captivate comes with 16GB of internal memory and expandable memory up to 32GB. The Captivate has gamers in mind as well with its six-axis motion sensor, 3D graphics engine and surround sound audio. All of these goodies believe it or not are in housed with a 4inch hard to come across Super AMOLED screen. The At&t Captivate will be running Android latest OS version 2.1 and will surely be set up for a Froyo update as soon as that is actually issued.  

The new Galaxy S line out of Samsung is their way of putting themselves back into contention within the smart phone market. With the overall stats and functionality of this piece of the Galaxy S line is sure to turn some heads and impress. If you were an Omni user you may indeed like the new Galaxy S line as they are indeed quite similar.
