AT&T to Sell the BlackBerry Curve 3G and the Pearl 3G

AT&T has announced that it is getting the BlackBerry Curve 3G and the Pearl 3G as well. This should come as no surprise as AT&T and Research In Motion (RIM), the maker of the BlackBerry, have already partnered up designing the Torch 9800. AT&T is also the second largest cellular carrier in the US after all.

For those on AT&T’s network who are interested in snagging a new BlackBerry, here is quick rundown on the specs of both:

Curve 3G (Curve 9300)

  • 3G network enabled
  • GPS and Wi-Fi
  • BlackBerry OS 5 (OS 6 soon)
  • 256MB of RAM
  • 624 MHz Marvell processor
  • 256MB of flash storage (microSD support included)
  • 2 MP camera without flash
  • 320×240 screen resolution
  • $99.99 with two year contract

Pearl 3G (Pearl 9100, 9105)

  • 3G network enabled
  • GPS and Wi-Fi
  • BlackBerry OS 5 (OS 6 soon)
  • 256MB of RAM
  • 624 MHz Marvell processor
  • 256MB of flash storage (microSD support included)
  • 3 MP camera with flash
  • 360×400 screen resolution
  • $149.99

The two smartphones are very similar. Your preference of one or the other will need to be based on actually playing around with the phones at the store. Of course, the Pearl 3G has a little bit of a better screen and a better camera with a flash. That might tip your preference towards it. The Pearl 3G will be coming out on AT&T’s network on October 17th. The Curve 3G will be available in time for the holidays (November?).

Exited that AT&T is expanding its BlackBerry lineup? Going to go with T-Mobile for these smartphones instead? Let me know.
