Many moons ago back in the early days of this fine year 2014 Asus announced that At&t would be teaming up with the company by launching a Padfone X. In the long three months since the announcement of the Padfone X not a single spec sheet, rumor or bit of speculation has hit the headlines. Today, all that changes. At&t has official let the cat out of the bag…sort of. The carrier has gone on record and explained what makes the Padfone X tick; unfortunately however there is no word on when and how much the device will cost. According to the new information the phone will be a 5 inch 1080p full HD touch screen device that runs with the likes of Android version 4.4. Internally the handset will pack in a highly capable quad-core Qualcomm made Snapdragon 800 processor that runs at 2.3 GHz. It will pack in a 13 mega pixel rear facing camera sensor with a front facing 2 mega pixel sensors. Additionally the handset will come with 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage, expandable micro SD memory, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and a super large 2300 mAh battery. The Pad part of this new Fone is essentially a smart docking station. The tablet’s screen measures in at 9 inches and provides a 1920×1200 resolution and uses a 4990 mAh battery to get along. Up front a 1 mega pixel camera is embedded into the 514 gram, 11.63mm thin housing! Unfortunately the buck stops there but a release of this device is likely imminent as At&t says “stay tuned for ordering and availability details”.
