The Apple iPad Mini is Here!
Sometimes, the impossible happens! A long time ago in a distant universe lived this amazing gadget called the iPad. The iPad was said to revolutionize the way mere mortals did personal computing. While this amazing new piece of technology has had its way with the market place, it is surely not done. When the original iPad hit the scene it was said by its inventors and designers that its 10 inch design was a perfect size for how us humans would interact with a multi touch slate. The table proved to the world that anything under its 9.7 inch display size would not work well with our opposable thumbs. Fast forward through a slew of different 7 inch tablets made by the likes of, Samsung, Google, Amazon and plenty others Apple has decided that a 7 inch tablet would be a great idea!
The iPad Mini has been in and out of the rumor mill for quite some time. It seemed that every time a new Apple product would launch new rumors of this fabled device would enter the fray. Yesterday however brought us the first official variant of the infamous Apple tablet, the iPad Mini. The company finally unveiled its new Galaxy Note, err I mean iPad mini yesterday and the world has findally moved on to the next Apple rumor. But what is in a device that Apple said would never work? Well, awesomeness and a touch of iOS. The new slate measures in at 7.87 x 5.30 x 0.28 and uses a 7.8 inch touch screen with a 1024×768 pixel resolution at a mere 162 pixels per inch. Which ironically, shares the same resolution as the iPad 2 but boast’s a slightly denser pixel resolution. Internally the iPad Mini is an iPad 2. It comes with Apple’s A5 dual core 1 GHz ARM Coretex-A9 processor and a measly 512 MB of RAM. The iPad mini is offered in 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB storage options with no expandable memory options. Around back however the iPad Mini sports an awesome 5 mega pixel camera with F2.4 aperture, a slew of unique camera tricks and of course full 1080p HD video recording. An additional front facing 1.2 megapixel camera is also on board and can be found recording video in 720p HD. Additional connectivity will be made available from GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, Lightning, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. The iPad Mini will go up for pre-order starting October 26th and will price in at $329 for the 16GB, $429 for the 32GB, and $529 for the 64GB. Unfortunately you black and white are the only shades you can select from.
