New Apple rumors again suggest larger iPhones and iPad’s. The last time Apple announced some new handsets the company unveiled their new iPhone 5S and created a new category within their rankings with the iPhone 5C. These new handsets were announced and launched back in September and as you’d expect the rumors surrounding the company’s next generation mobile devices have hit their stride just a few months later. Every year however the same new expectation reaches the headlines. Larger screens! Whether it’s a larger iPhone or a larger iPad, every year the rumors seemingly spawn from desire, however is this coming refresh the year Apple launches a 12.9 inch iPad and an iPhone 6 with a 4.9 inch screen?

The short answer…probably not! Year in and year out since the dawn of the iPhone, rumors surrounding a larger screen have been attached to the company’s future. While seemingly inevitable, Apple has stayed within the 4 inch walls for their smart phone and about 10 inches for their tablets. Rumors about a larger iPad have been popping up for some time now. Most recently however, according to the Korea Times Apple is currently producing 12.9 inch panels with a “1st tier supplier in Korea”. While it may be safe to assume that supplier is LG, the paper went on to say “The 12.9-inch iPad will have improved picture quality. As the Apple partner intends to boost its lineup for displays that have almost ultra high-definition (UHD) quality, the upcoming iPad will provide very clear quality similar to that of UHD.”  The tablet is currently being called the iPad Pro within the rumor mill and is surely more fitting that its previous name, the iPad Maxi. If it happens, the device is expected to see a release sometime early 2014. Adding to the Apple rumors this morning new details of the iPhone’s future have surfaced. While the expectation of a larger iPhone has been around for a while now, new details out of China suggest Apple is currently testing an iPhone prototype that sports a 4.9 inch display. The information goes on to suggest the iPhone 5C will also see a screen bump, however the source is unsure of its size.
